Trade-In Or Drive Into The Ground? There are two kinds of automobile owners — the ones who like to trade-in their vehicles regularly, and the others who prefer to drive their vehicles until they can’t drive them anymore. At the NYE Automotive Group, we welcome both of them. My dad was one of the drivers who was constantly trading in his car for something different, often to the point where I would have no idea what he was driving. For most people who do the regular trade-ins, it usually comes down to a consideration of getting the most out of the trade value for the current ride. When they trade it before it depreciates too much, they’ll get the maximum return on their investment. For my dad, though, I often figured it was just boredom with his current vehicle and the desire to be behind the wheel of something new, or at least new to him. He never got attached to any of his vehicles because he never kept them long enough. Like a properly rebellious lad, I took the other route … I prefer to drive my cars until they need to come off the road. Of course, that leaves little for me in trade-in value, but I am avoiding the rigors of the search for a replacement vehicle. I get accustomed to my vehicle, and the change is not something I look forward to making. I usually try to stay with a similar make and model, although somewhat newer, as much as possible. Of course, there always finally comes that day when the price of repairs exceeds the cost of bringing home a new vehicle. For me, and for most of the people who drive until they can’t, that’s the sign when it’s time to start shopping. That’s a pretty good rule of thumb for all of the drivers who hold on to their vehicles until the last possible moment. Once the vehicle is too costly — or too unsafe — to keep on the road, it’s time to pay a visit to NYE Automotive. Whether you want something new or just new to you, something you’ll drive for a short time and trade in or something you’ll drive until the wheels fall off, stop by NYE Automotive today.
