Have you driven a Ford F-Series lately? So, you’ve made up your mind that it’s time to buy a pickup truck, and you have your heart set on something from the Ford F-series … but you aren’t really sure what the difference is between all of the models like the F-150, F-250, F-350 and the rest? NYE Automotive can give you all the information needed to make an educated purchase that best fulfills your needs, whether you need a truck to make a living or you just want something to do some occasional transport. For more than 50 years, the F-Series has been a popular line of full-size pickup trucks manufactured by the Ford Motor Company. The most popular of all is their F-150, famed as the best-selling vehicle in general in the United States for some 25 years and the best-selling truck in particular for some 35 years. The very first F-Series truck debuted in 1948 as the Ford Bonus-Built. Then, the F-Series included eight different weight ratings in styles including pickup, panel truck, cab-over engine, conventional truck, and school bus. The original F-1 soon became the F-100, the F-2 became the F-250, and the F-3 became the F-350. The F-150 was introduced in 1975 to stand in between the F-100 and the F-250 and went on to replace the F-100 as the standard F-Series model. Later, the F-150 split from the others in the F-series in 1998 as the F-250 through the F-550 models became the Ford Super Duty line of trucks. It’s an exciting time for the contemporary F-150 series Ford pickups as they have been recently upgraded to add more fuel economy. Featuring two new V8 engines and the twin-turbocharged EcoBoost 3.5L V6, most F-150 models also now have electric-assisted power steering that increases both driver control and efficiency. The Super Duty trucks also recently got a major redesign themselves, featuring the PowerStroke diesel V8 engine. Newer models have a clamshell hood and two-bar grill, and available in either gas or diesel.
