Nye Automotive Group adds Buick to family

General Sales Manager Rich Artigiani

Since 1968, Nye has been one of the first names in automobiles in the Oneida area. Initially founded as a Ford-Lincoln-Mercury dealership by Harold Nye, the original dealership was located on Broad Street in Oneida. As time has passed, Nye Automotive Group has grown to become one of the largest automotive dealerships in Madison County.

Located on Route 5 in Oneida, the automotive group currently includes Ford, Lincoln, Toyota, Scion and GMC. Nye owner and president Bill Nye announced that this spring, the company would add a new, familiar name to the automotive group.

“We’re pleased to announce the addition of Buick to our family of dealerships,” said Nye. “This will allow us to provide our customers with another vehicle brand they know and trust.”

Nye went on to say that as the only Buick dealership in Oneida, they look forward to serving both loyal Buick customers and newcomers alike. “The current Buick lineup is impressive, and it’s definitely worth a second look,” Nye said. “We look forward to introducing our customers to these great vehicles.”

General Sales Manager Rich Artigiani agreed. “We’re glad to be able to provide GM customers with a wide range of vehicles again,” he said. “Since Pontiac went out of business two years ago, we’ve only had GMC trucks and SUVs at the GM dealership. The addition of Buick means that loyal GM customers will have an option here at Nye now, and we couldn’t be happier to offer a wider selection.”

Artigiani said that currently, several new Buicks are on order, and are scheduled to start moving into the dealership in mid-April. “We anticipate that we’ll be fully stocked by the beginning of May, when we plan to launch the grand opening of the Buick dealership,” Artigiani said.

The Buick lineup will include three car models, the Lucerne, the Lacrosse, and the Regal, as well as the Enclave, a crossover SUV. “These vehicles are beautifully designed and loaded with features,” GM Sales Manager Jay Moore said. “Buick really offers an array of vehicles to suit all lifestyles.” Moore said he’s been very impressed with the newly redesigned 2011 Buick Regal.

“This car is amazing,” Moore said. “It’s sporty, and boasts modern, aerodynamic lines and a sculpted design. It really is a showstopper.” He said that the Regal also features responsive performance, and offers a class-exclusive interactive drive control system, as well as a luxurious interior design. “Not only is the new Regal a great-looking car, it’s also a pleasure to drive,” Moore said.

Moore is a native of Vernon and currently lives in Canastota, and he feels that being a life-long resident of the area helps him maintain community ties with the customers he has served for the past seven years. “My customers trust Nye to give them the best service possible. I know a lot of the people who come through our doors, and I appreciate being able to help meet their automotive needs,” he said.

Having a strong sales team also has helped make the dealership successful, according to Moore. Currently, he has five employees, all with local ties and experience in the automotive industry. “I have a great group of salespeople here. They’re all really focused on serving new customers who walk through the door, and maintaining relationships with past customers,” Moore said.

Rounding up his team are Jim Clute, Dennis Spinelli, Jim Cleary, Andy Jarrett and John Purcell.

Clute, a long-time resident of Verona, has worked as a sales consultant at Nye for the past four years, but has worked in the automotive field for more than 12 years. For Clute, customer service is his number one priority, and he feels that his strong loyalty to his clientele makes their vehicle purchasing experience both enjoyable and memorable.

Oneida resident Spinelli joined Nye with more than 15 years experience in the automotive industry. Before coming to Nye, he was employed by Navelli Motors of Rome, where he served in a number of capacities, including ordering, dealer trades, and Internet sales. Spinelli worked at the dealership for eight years, and has been at Nye for three years.

Cleary, who worked for Nye for several years and recently returned, is an automotive industry veteran, and Jarrett, a native of Rome, has been a sales consultant with NYE for the past two years. New to the team this past year is Purcell, an Oneida resident.

“This group is strong, experienced and really represents the area we serve,” Moore said. “We’re all excited to add Buick to our already-great lineup of brands here at Nye, and the sales team looks forward to offering these terrific vehicles to our customers.”
